Diminutive Land Rover DC100 to Battle the MINI?
The Land Rover DC100 concept is nearly ready for the public. If makes it makes it to production, it will go head-to-tiny-head against the MINI Countryman. The automaker is even thinking that the DC100 may end up being a fine entry-level Land Rover, a brand that is not known for being wary of the mechanic. Plus, we’re pretty sure the premiums will be much higher than insurance rates for Minis.
Whether it becomes a gateway LR or not, there is little doubt that the little guy will further complicate the already crowded compact SUV micro-niche. Being an entry-level vehicle most likely means that its sticker price will not be anywhere near the $44,000 Land Rover Evoque. The thought is that it will be closer to the $25,000 cost of the MINI Countryman.
